Incredibly, this is true even when you are in a public setting where you know very few people. ![]() Other studies have revealed that your body begins to produce hormones and chemicals that make you feel good when you are around other people. Studies have shown that people who spend most of their time alone look at the world with a more negative view than those who socialise frequently. While this behaviour is linked to the age-old human survival instinct, it doesn’t always produce the best results.Ĭonstantly avoiding interacting with other people limits you in so many ways. They’d rather not be dealing with strangers, carrying a conversation for more than a few seconds, or volunteering to give a presentation at work. We steer clear of situations we don’t like if at all possible. So it’s easier if you retreat to your comfortable home where you have control over your experience. No one likes to feel upset when they can feel safe and secure. When you’re shy and uncertain in social settings, you tend to avoid them. ![]()
